Inaugural Savannah Scottish Festival Cup

May. 8, 2025 • Patrick Chaussard

The Charleston GAA was invited by the Pooler GAA to take part in the first ever Savannah Scottish Festival Hurling Cup on May 3rd. In the morning players from Charleston, Pooler and Savannah drafted teams for a pair of friendly matches. This was followed by the first ever Savannah Scottish Festival Championship Game between Pooler and Charleston. Pooler jumped out to an early lead but the Charleston hurlers fought back and went into halftime with the lead. Na Darach was able to shut down the Pooler attack in the second half and won the first cup for the club since 2022 with a final of 4-8 to 3-2. The Charleston attack was driven by rookie Daniel Smollon who was named team MVP on the day.
