Spring League Set to Begin

This Sunday March 9th is the start of Charleston GAA’s Blue v Gold Spring League. The club has split into two teams and will play a four week league aimed at teaching the game of hurling and getting players experience in a game environment. Games will be played at 11:00am at Hampton Park on March 9th, 16th, 29th and finishing on April 5th.

Spring Season Kicks Off

A jammed packed Spring Season is about to begin at Charleston GAA and now is a great time to come out and join the club! Spring practices for hurling and Gaelic football have started and take place every Sunday morning at 10:45 am. Newcomers of all skill levels are welcome, we have an energetic and dedicated team who are looking forward to teaching you the skills of the game.

Holy City Cup Date Announced

The 2025 Holy City Cup will be held on April 12th again being held at West Ashley High School on two fields. The competition, which began in 2013, will look to build on its success from 2024 when a record 9 hurling and camogie teams took part. Possible new competitions include a Youth Blitz and Men’s Gaelic Football exhibition round robin as the Charleston GAA continues to build its Football team. Unfortunately due to a scheduling conflict the Butler Preservation Camogie Cup will not be contested this year.

2025 Puc Fada

On Sunday February 9th the Charleston Hurling Club held its second annual Beach Puc Fada on Sullivan’s Island. The contest started in front of the Lighthouse on Sullivan’s Island with the individual taking the least amount of strikes to get their sioltar to the end of the beach being declared the winner. The competition was won by club superstar Brandon Callahan who needed only 26 strikes to cover the distance and claim the coveted Cú Chulainn belt. The runner up with 29 strikes was last years champion Ryan Finn, while Daniel Smollon and Patrick Chaussard tied for third at 35. This years Puc Fada saw double the number of participants from the inaugural competition in 2024 as 8 Charleston Hurlers took part. A huge thank you goes out to Paul Sebestyen and Melody Herscher for organizing and running the event.
