After going against tradition and delaying our yearly tournament until the fall, we were finally able to host the Holy City Cup! With no hurricanes in sight, we welcomed the beautiful (if a little hot) first day of fall as the perfect day for hurling.

After months of anticipation, we finally kicked off this year’s fall pub league on September 9th. Despite the looming threat of Hurricane Florence, we were lucky enough to experience clear skies and good field conditions.

Sunday, September 25th marked the start of the Charleston Hurling Club’s third annual fall pub league. Thanks to established club members and several newcomers, the club was able to form three teams again this year: McCann’s, Recovery Room, and Seanachaí. All three teams, made up of veteran hurlers, recent recruits, and visitors in town for the weekend, played amazingly well this week despite the heat and slightly muddy field conditions.
