2025 Puc Fada

Feb. 19, 2025 • Patrick Chaussard

On Sunday February 9th the Charleston Hurling Club held its second annual Beach Puc Fada on Sullivan’s Island. The contest started in front of the Lighthouse on Sullivan’s Island with the individual taking the least amount of strikes to get their sioltar to the end of the beach being declared the winner. The competition was won by club superstar Brandon Callahan who needed only 26 strikes to cover the distance and claim the coveted Cú Chulainn belt. The runner up with 29 strikes was last years champion Ryan Finn, while Daniel Smollon and Patrick Chaussard tied for third at 35. This years Puc Fada saw double the number of participants from the inaugural competition in 2024 as 8 Charleston Hurlers took part. A huge thank you goes out to Paul Sebestyen and Melody Herscher for organizing and running the event.
