With everyone, including the field, fully recovered from the previous week’s mud wrestling match, we were ready to hit the field for another round of Pub League games. But first, to start off the week, we held another one of our New Player Clinics. Coach Dagg ran through the fundamentals of hurling with the rookies and new recruits, and soon they’ll be confident enough to join in on the fun! We then moved into the first of our two matches for the week.

Despite the threat of inclement weather, our second game of Spring Pub League went ahead according to schedule. The field conditions could have been better, but we determined that a bit of rain and mud is no bother. There was also no sense in wasting the good turnout from both teams, though several were absent or still sore from the previous day’s Cooper River Bridge Run. As luck would have it, as soon as we put our helmets on to start the game, the rain began and was unrelenting throughout the first half.

After spending the past month celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, and having a few new recruits to show for the effort, we finally began our Spring Pub League for 2019! In order to keep things simple, we have split into two teams, with each sporting one of the two colors from our new, reversible pinnies supplied by our sponsor, the Recovery Room Tavern. Team Gold is captained by one of our talented goalies, Ryan Finn. Team Blue is captained by Rob Coyle, who also captained the Fall 2018 Pub League Champions, Team Tommy Condon’s. While the turnout was strong from both teams, the Team Blue had several more veterans than Team Gold.
